Recently, I sat down with Josh from Blooming Moments Films to chat about what really makes a wedding film special. Having filmed countless weddings across Cornwall and beyond, Josh has seen first-hand the little decisions that can completely transform how a wedding video looks and feels.
His biggest piece of advice?

Think about having a first look
While it's not for every couple, Josh explained that first looks often create some of the most authentic, emotional moments of the entire day. It gives you both the chance to see each other without an audience and often helps settle any pre-ceremony nerves too.

Josh recommends making a conscious effort to spend a little time together after your ceremony.
Rather than immediately splitting up to chat with guests, take a few minutes to enjoy being newly married. Those natural conversations, smiles and quiet moments often become some of the most treasured scenes in your final film.
Keep your getting-ready space tidy
It might sound simple, but Josh says a clutter-free room makes a world of difference.
Keeping bags, clothes and packaging tucked away creates a much cleaner backdrop and helps your final film feel polished from the very beginning.

Living and working in Cornwall means we all know the weather can be unpredictable.
But Josh was quick to point out that some of the most cinematic wedding films happen when conditions aren't perfect. Wind, mist or even a little rain can add atmosphere and create incredibly beautiful footage.
