Located within a 250 acres organic country estate set in the beautiful Mid-Devon countryside, Hawke Barn is a beautiful 16th century building which oozes rustic charm. Exposed heavy oak beams, a high open-vaulted ceiling, exposed stonework, flagstone floors and contemporary full-height windows allow a flood of natural warm light and combine to create a stunning venue for all styles of weddings and celebration. The timeless and natural aesthetic of the barn lends itself to any number of décor ideas, enabling you or your wedding planner to really let the imagination run wild. The main doors open out to the sheltered and landscaped south facing private courtyard, and an impressive cluster of mature Beech trees overlook from the southwest boundary with the horses looking out from their stable windows form the distant backdrop. Guests can mingle freely between barn and courtyard creating a relaxed & sociable vibe perfect for any occasion. The calm ambience and idyllic rural surrounds complete with seating and terraces, where guests can gather in fine weather ensures that they are never far from the celebrations.
Hawke Barn is privately owned by Nigel and Katherine Hawke and their family. On site accommodation is available in our two beautifully restored 16th century barn conversions Farm Office and Hayloft, each with their own private courtyard and hot tubs, plus the West Wing of the farmhouse which combined sleeps 12–20 guests. Farm Office, a 16th century single-storey, two-bedroom, luxury barn conversion which was formally the farm office. This cottage retains the original rafters and stonework to give it its individual charm. Hayloft, a 16th century two-storey, three-bedroom, luxury barn conversion which was formally a stable and hayloft. The original rafters have been retained and the quirky interior results in the two first floor bedrooms being in the rafters. Dedicated wedding couple and family accommodation in the West Wing of Thorne Farm House. This property features a ground floor sitting room and dining room, ideal for wedding preparations or family gatherings. Private stairs to the first floor Exmoor themed luxury master bedroom with king-size French four poster bed and en-suite shower room. The second Duchess themed double bedroom features a luxury French antique Corbeille double bed and en-suite shower room.
